I worked as a whitewater rafting guide on multi-day wilderness trips in Idaho and Oregon. I am an absolute badass. I can row you down a river. And then I can cook you dinner. And I can pack 422 kitchen items into a very small box, and then fit that box, and 27 other boxes, into my 18' boat, and still make a comfortable seat for the 5 guests I'm going to row down that river today. (Also, I'll comfort you when you're scared, teach you about the wilderness we're passing through, give you first aid when you need it, and take care of the "groover" (but do please try to pee in the river and reserve the groover for only solid waste)).
Also, I worked in a bridal shop selling haute couture wedding gowns. Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrera, seriously couture dresses. Every 90 minutes someone would walk through the door looking for help to make a fun but often emotionally fraught decision. Sometimes they’d bring people who weren’t helpful, or even nice. And I needed to make sure they got what they needed from the appointment. I'd watch and listen for the micro-clues, and see what truly lights them up. I can handle your shit, I can help you find the most perfect and most beautiful dress of your life. And I can write about both in under 4 minutes.
